Perhaps most important of all, you should understand that osteoporosis is not a condition of inadequate calcium intake.
Rather, it is a condition of overly rapid calcium loss.
Well, there are 3 main factors which in particular,accelerate calcium losses. Without calcium in our bodies, we have not power to against osteoporosis:
1) Sodium (salt) accelerates the passage of calcium through the kidneys
into the urine. Therefore, we need to reduce sodium intake in our bodies,
this can be done by avoid adding salt in cooking or at the table.
Beside that, you need to be careful about canned foods and snack products made
with added sodium.
2) Animal protein is high in sulfur-containing amino acids, which tend to leach
calcium from the bones and send it through the kidneys into the urine. Replace
animal protein with vegetables protein.
3) Avoid smoking because smoking will cause rapid calcium losses.
If you has one of those followers as above, then you need to recover your calcium asap, otherwise you will become one of million osteoporosis patients.
