Many years of research, cancer researchers found that people who avoided meat were much less likely to develop the disease. Research showed that vegetarians were about 40 percent less likely to develop cancer, compared to meat-eaters.

This research has been done in two groups which vegetarian group and meat-eaters group, although nearly two groups avoid tobacco and alcohol and follow generally healthful lifestyles, but studies showed significant reductions in cancer risk among those who avoided meat.

Research also found that individuals eating beef, pork, or lamb daily have
approximately three times the colon cancer risk, compared to people who generally avoid these products.

Therefore, we should reduce meat intake and replace with plant products in order to reduce the risk of cancer.

What is the connection between Meat and Cancer?

The Fact is, Meat's fat content is virtually always much higher than that of plant products. as we saw in my previous post on Low Fats Foods.

1) Fatty foods boost the hormones that are linked to common forms of cancer.

2) Meat don't has any fiber at all since meat is not a plant product. The more you fill up on meat, the less room you have for fiber-rich foods.

3) Meat also devoid of vitamin C and low in other protective nutrients found in plants.

4) As meats are cooked, cancer-causing chemicals called hetero cyclic amines tend to form within the meat tissue, read my post in Fiber Fight Colon Cancer. The longer and hotter it is cooked, the more these compounds form.

Conclusion : vegetarians are about 40 percent less likely to develop cancer, compared to meateaters.
